Dr. Raneem Smsmieh

Dr. Raneem Smsmieh is a resident physician who believes that good care starts with listening. She takes the time to understand her patients’ concerns and works collaboratively with them to support their health needs.

Dr. Raneem Smsmieh completed her medical degree at Damascus university Syria. She started her residency in 2025 at McMaster University. Currently, she is working as a resident physician at Henry Medical Centre, Brantford and will start her practice as a family physician in the mid of 2027.

Dr. Hafsa Faiz

Dr. Hafsa Faiz is a resident physician who believes that good care starts with listening. She takes the time to understand her patients’ concerns and works collaboratively with them to support their health and wellbeing. Dr. Hafsa has a keen interest in the growing fields of addiction medicine and chronic pain

Dr. Hafsa Faiz obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Nishtar Medical College Pakistan. She Joined her residency in family medicine in the mid of 2024 at McMaster University. Currently, she is working as a resident physician at Henry Medical Centre, Brantford and will start her practice as a family physician in the mid of 2026.

Dr. Maria L. Deleon-Matsuda

Dr. Maria L. Deleon-Matsuda received her M.D. degree from the University of the Philippines in Manila. She completed the Residency in General Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the Philippine General Hospital, and practiced as a Surgeon/Surgical Oncologist for 7 years.  She and her family moved to Canada, and shortly after that she completed Residency in Family Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton in 2011.

Dr. Deleon-Matsuda has received the Dr. Ben Finkelstein Award by the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University “for exhibiting a compassionate nature and a commitment to treatment of families, with special emphasis on family counselling and treatment”.

Dr. Deleon-Matsuda is an active member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and holds an independent license to practice issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dr. Deleon-Matsuda prefers to be simply called “Dr. Maria”. She has called Brantford her home since 2003 and is privileged to serve the people in her community. Currently, she is working as a Family Physician at Henry Medical Centre, Brantford.

Dr. Rebecca Leitch

Dr. Rebecca Leitch is a family physician who believes that good care starts with listening. She takes the time to understand her patients’ concerns and works collaboratively with them to support their health and wellbeing.

Dr. Leitch completed her medical degree at McMaster University and her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital site, where she gained experience caring for patients across all stages of life.

She values clear communication, preventive care, and shared decision-making, and strives to create a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their care. Currently, she is working as a Family Physician at Henry Medical Centre, Brantford.

Dr. K.M Anisur Rahman

Dr. K.M. Anisur Rahman received his medical degree from Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital (BMSRI), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh (BMSRI) in 2002. He completed his residency training in family medicine from McMaster university from 2008 till 2010 and joined North woodlands medical centre in 2011.

Dr. Rahman holds certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and got his Fellowship in 2023. He holds an independent license to practice issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Currently, he is working as a Family Physician at Henry Medical Centre, Brantford.

Clinical interests:

  • Acute and chronic disease management
  • Diabetes care
  • Patient education about disease prevention, management and rehabilitation
  • Minor office procedures including incision and drainage, laceration management, gynecological procedures etc.
  • Teaching of medical students
  • Supervising resident Physicians
  • Joint pain management clinic: u/s guided, major joint injection including steroid/cortisone, PRP, hyaluronic acid injection, cyst drainage.

Dr. Adeela Arooj

Dr. Adeela Arooj completed her Family Medicine residency training from Schulich School of Medicine, University of Western Ontario, London in 2016. She is part of Brantford Family Health organization and has been working as family physician in Brantford since 2016.

Dr. Arooj holds certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and holds an independent license to practice issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dr. Arooj did Masters in Bioethics from University of Toronto and is a member of Joint Centre of Bioethics (JCB). She has special interest in women’s health, joint injections, minor procedures, and bioethical research. She is actively involved in research and has written in international journals.

Dr. Arooj is also part of teaching faculty of McMaster University and is actively involved in teaching medical students and training family medicine resident as an Assistant Clinical Professor. Currently, she is working as a Family Physician at Henry Medical Centre, Brantford.
